“As we transition this top spot from one Navy vet to another, I’m confident RRC will remain in great hands,” said Michael Nelson, President, PAR Government. “Admiral George Anderson once said, ‘The Navy has both a tradition and a future – and we look with pride and confidence in both directions.’ I feel the same about this change. PAR Government Joins Tough Stump Technologies for Annual Tough Stump Rodeo
Third Annual “Show and Tell” Event is set for June 14-17 in Adler, MT
Rome NY and Carthage NC, 28 April 2023 – There’s no better way to understand mission critical technologies than to see them in action.
With this in mind, Tough Stump Technologies, a Veteran-owned small business, will host a one-of-a-kind technology rodeo June 14-17 in remote Adler, MT. PAR Government, a leader in situational awareness solutions, will be powering the command center during the event.
“Unlike trade shows that flood the industry this time of year, our Rodeo allows companies to collaborate in very real and very remote conditions, with the closest cell coverage being over 30 minutes away,” explained Ben Brown, co-founder and Chief Operations Officer for Tough Stump. “We liken this event to the ‘Tough Mudder’ of technology as our participants have an opportunity to demonstrate live stress tests in austere conditions.”
The Tough Stump Rodeo is designed for professionals seeking solutions to increase their mission effectiveness while improving the safety of personnel. Law enforcement, forestry, first responders, search and rescue officials, Geographic Information Services professionals, Department of Defense personnel, and Federal civilian stakeholders are encouraged to attend.
“At last year’s event, we were able to solve problems on the fly, and really learn how to use other capabilities to keep connected at a test site on Ruby Range, located 30 km away from base camp at Upper Canyon Outfitters,” added Verne LaClair, PAR Government product manager. “This year, we have the privilege of being the power behind all activities at the command center.”
As such, PAR will demonstrate ATAK mobile application’s communications and surveillance capabilities, including Sit(x)®. PAR Government will be the only company handling all TAK communications, providing a critical path to all users. PAR will also provide a Starlink cellular backhaul to help support Unmanned Aerial Systems. Radios, MESH/MANET networks, drones and other unmanned vehicles will help keep teams connected in a disconnected environment.
Joining LaClair, attending on behalf of PAR Government, are:
- SFC Chad Wiley (CPD/CPM, JTAC Instructor/Evaluator, Experienced SOF Soldier) working new ICS market
- CPT Tim Peterson (PAR Government Product Sales, TAK Server as a Service in the AWS Cloud) working Tactical Assault Kit / Team Awareness Kit (ATAK/WinTAK/iTAK) and Sit(x)
- Levi Terry (PAR Government Software Engineer, Cyber Security specialist) working Unmanned Aerial Systems
Currently, members of the U.S. Army Special Operations, Marine Special Operations Forces, Wildland Fire, and BORTAC are attending as Government observers.
Event sponsors include Teledyne FLIR, Red Cat, Hexagon US Federal, GoTenna, and Darley Defense.
Additionally, attending companies include Bryodyn, Marshall Radio, Hoverfly, Ghost Robotics, TEAL Drones, Tomahawk Robotics, and Leica Geosystems.
